Rule The Roulette

Roulette is a casino gambling game named after the French word “roulette” meaning “little wheel” because the game is basically played on a circular wheel shaped table running in a rotating motion surrounded by a stationary round wooden radial frame where the ball is thrown in the opposite direction of the rotation of the inner wheel. The rotating wheel consists of Small Square shaped frames, coloured black and red alternately, and numbered in a certain sequence. The European roulette has thirty seven squares whereas the American one has thirty eight.

In roulette, the players can have different options of betting. They can place “inside” bets which means they can bet on the exact position the ball will land in or a small range of numbers depending on the arrangement of the table, or, they can place “outside” bets which means they can place bets depending on various variables like range of the final outcome, the colour of the box the ball lands in, the outcome whether the ball lands in a box having an odd or even number.

The most interesting thing about the game of roulette is that it is one of the games where the total amount of money involved in the betting in less than the total winnings. It is for this reason that you will see lots of roulette tables in a casino, because this is how they make most of their money. The same reason also compelled the famous Albert Einstein to say that one cannot beat a roulette game without stealing from it.

Over the years, many people have tried to beat the casino, and turn roulette – a game designed to turn a profit for the house – into one on which the player expects to win. Most of the time this comes down to the use of betting systems, strategies which say that the house edge can beaten by simply employing a special pattern of bets, often relying on the ‘gambler’s fallacy’, the idea that past results are any guide to the future (for example, if a roulette wheel has come up 10 times in a row on red, that red on the next spin is any more or less likely than if the last spin was black).

Compared to other casino games, this is relatively more dependent on luck, however with a proper strategy of placing one’s bets, one can surely hope to minimize the risk.
